Second Argentine Cybersecurity Strategy
Through Resolution No. 1/2023, the Secretariat of the President’s Chief of Staff Office opened the Public Consultation process of the Second Argentine Cybersecurity Strategy text.
In 2019, the Secretariat of Modernization issued Resolution No. 829/2019, establishing the National Cybersecurity Strategy. This involved the development of prevention, detention, response, and recovery actions against cyber threats in a coherent and structured way, together with the development of an adequate regulatory framework.
However, seeing the challenges the advancement of new technologies poses, there appears a need to update this strategy. Therefore, on January 2, 2023, the Secretariat of the President’s Chief of Staff Office issued Resolution No. 1/2023, establishing the opening of a public consultation process regarding the Second National Cybersecurity Strategy.
The document submitted for public consultation promotes a series of objectives based on guiding principles that will lead to the development of plans, policies, and concrete actions regarding Argentina’s cybersecurity.
The Second Cybersecurity Strategy focuses on the following objectives:
- Awareness, training, and education in the responsible use of the cyberspace and promotion for training cybersecurity specialists.
- Development of the regulatory framework.
- Strengthening of prevention, detection, and response protocols.
- Protection and recovery of public sector information systems.
- Promotion of the cybersecurity industry.
- International cooperation.
- Protection of critical national infrastructures.
- Strengthening of the institutional system for addressing cybersecurity issues at a federal level.
