New Prosecution Unit in San Isidro Specialized Investigating Cybercrimes
The General Prosecutor's Office in the Province of Buenos Aires created the Prosecution Unit Specialized in Investigation of Cybercrimes with jurisdiction in the Judicial Department of San Isidro.

Following the increase in the number of crimes related to the use of technology, especially those involving digital resources as means or ends to affect protected legal assets, the General Prosecutor's Office in the Province of Buenos Aires created the Prosecution Unit Specialized in Investigating Cybercrimes (UFEIC) through Resolution No. 8/22 issued on December 27, 2022.
The resolution establishes that the UFEIC will be formed by Prosecutorial Agent Alejandro Musso, legal officers Alejandro Martín Orlandini and Denis Ariel Banchero, two judicial agents, and two interns to be determined. It also states that the unit will start operating on January 2, 2023.
The UFEIC will have jurisdiction in the Judicial Department of San Isidro (except in those cases where the Prosecution Unit Specialized in Child Pornography and Related Crimes of Human Trafficking is competent) to investigate crimes of privacy violation and confidentiality (arts. 153 bis, 155 and 157 of the Criminal Code), extortion (art. 168 of the Criminal Code), fraud committed by digital means (arts. 172 and 173, inc. 15 and 16 of the Criminal Code), and computer damages (arts. 183, 2nd paragraph, 183 and 184, inc. 5 and 6 of the Criminal Code), among others.
