ENACOM: Extension of Validity of Permits, Authorizations, Registrations, Inscriptions and Licenses

In accordance with the measures adopted by the Argentine Executive in response to the outbreak of the coronavirus, the Argentine Communication Entity (the “ENACOM” after its acronym in Spanish) has adopted a number of measures aimed at preserving the health of its personnel, as well as the health of all those who attend its various offices and/or delegations.

Firstly, ENACOM published in the Official Gazette, Resolution No. 326/2020, dated April 3, 2020, amended by Resolutions No. 359/2020, No. 442/2020, No. 461/2020 and No. 771/2020, the last one published in the Official Gazette on July 23, 2020. Pursuant to this resolution, ENACOM extended, on an exceptional basis, for a period of sixty calendar days, the validity of the permits, authorizations, registrations, inscriptions and licenses granted by the agency whose expiration date or term is from March 16, 2020 up to and including September 17, 2020. The term of the extension will start to run from September 18, 2020.

Likewise, it provided that the following are not exempted from compliance for the duration of the social, preventive and mandatory isolation established by the Argentine Executive : i) procedures for the payment of the different rates, duties, investment contributions, taxes, levies and/or tariffs collected by ENACOM, for which the different electronic payment mechanisms are enabled; and ii) all the administrative procedures related to the emergency declared by Law No. 27541, extended by Decree No. 260 of March 12, 2020 and its amending and complementary regulations. The General Direction of Administration of ENACOM must indicate these circumstances in the corresponding actions.
