Data Protection Guides for Children in Digital Environments
These guidelines issued by the Data Protection Authority seek to guarantee children’s and adolescents’ right to personal data protection.

The Data Protection Authority published the guide “Our Digital World,” which includes the “Pedagogical Guide” and the “Guide for Adolescents.”
The Pedagogical Guide is aimed at teachers and educators who wish to work with adolescents and young people on the importance of protecting privacy and security of personal data, especially in digital environments. This Guide includes a series of educational activities to be done in group workshops, to learn the key contents on the protection of personal data, focused on the knowledge of their rights and of the Data Protection Law 25326. The Guide includes different types of activities with different aims, such as making them visible and recognizing the key concepts of the right to personal data protection, providing opportunities for group discussion, and reflection and inviting children to think about and propose actions to prevent risky situations.
On the other hand, the Guide for Adolescents seeks to help them understand what personal data is; why it is important to take care of it; what a digital identity, digital footprint, and digital citizenship are; as well as to know their rights, the regulatory tools for their protection, and how to assert them. The Guide also provides concrete and useful tips, while encouraging reflection on the importance of ethical and respectful behavior on the Internet and social networks.
