Calypso Uranium mining company has been drilling since March, 2012, 3,000 exploratory meters in two uranium projects near Cerro Solo, an important deposit controlled by the National Committee of Atomic Energy. In February, the Canadian company discovered a second uranium mineralization in Chubut, just six months after having announced the discovery of the first in the periphery of Cerro Solo. Mineral certified reserves amount to 12,000 tons. In light of the potential of the discovered deposits, the company has communicated that the mining area of the Gulf of San Jorge, spread through the South the Province of Chubut and the Province of Santa Cruz, holds the largest uranium deposit of the country.
