Soledad Riera

Soledad Riera is a partner at Marval O'Farrell Mairal, in the Energy and Natural Resources team. She joined the firm in 2022.

Soledad has vast experience and specializes in the area of energy, particularly in regulatory matters, analysis and negotiation of complex industry contracts, and dispute resolution.

Throughout her career, she has worked with important companies in the Oil & Gas industry. Her last corporate step was at Transportadora de Gas del Sur S.A., where she worked as Manager of Legal Affairs for the Liquids, Telecommunications and New Businesses areas. There, she contributed to the legal leadership and execution of numerous important projects, such as the construction of the gas pipeline through the crossing at the Strait of Magellan, the development of the inlet gas pipeline system in Vaca Muerta (Neuquén), the expansion of regulated transport systems, the negotiation of contracts for operation and maintenance of plants and gas pipelines, the purchase and sale of natural gas liquids for export, and the supply of ethane. She is a specialist in the business of natural gas processing. She has also led many arbitration and M&A processes. Her outstanding professional background includes a postgraduate degree in Oil and Natural Gas Law.

She graduated from Law School at the University of Buenos Aires in 2001.

Currently, she teaches a postgraduate course in Hydrocarbons and the Energy Industry Law at the UCA.
