Tax

Sergio Daniel Vergara joined Marval O’Farrell Mairal in 2011 and is currently a member of the Tax department. He focuses on disputes with the tax authorities regarding taxes and social security, including matters involving transfer pricing issues and the Criminal Tax Regime.
Before joining the firm, he worked at Celia Cajide, Adolfo Martul y Asociados and at Estudio Palacios Hardy.
He graduated from the Universidad de Buenos Aires with a law degree in 2010 and pursued a specialization in Tax at the same university (Faculty of Economics).
Sergio has been a teaching assistant in Labor Law at the Universidad de Buenos Aires and taught Tax Law at the intensive Master’s for Brazilian students at the Universidad Católica Argentina.
He wrote, in co-authorship, the chapter “Federal Jurisdictions of Courts of Law” (“Competencia Federal”) in the book “Constitución de la Nación Argentina comentada” de Roberto Gargarella, in its two editions and the article “Taxation of Digital Services in Argentina” for Tax Notes International. Moreover, he wrote several articles and newsletters regarding taxation.
In 2017 he received the “best article” award granted by the Argentine Fiscal Association, for an article “Cuestiones esenciales con relación a la responsabilidad solidaria de los administradores en materia tributaria” (co-author Walter Keiniger).
Moreover, he has been speaker in seminars related to Argentine and international taxation.
