María Julia Schmit

Maria Julia Schmit Joined Marval in 2022 and is currently a member of the Tax department, in the Customs Law area.

Her practice focuses on advising local and international companies on customs and foreign trade in cross-border transactions.

She is also experienced in bringing cases against the Customs Authority, whether from an administrative standpoint or in the Federal Tax Court and ordinary courts of law.

She graduated law school from the Universidad de Buenos Aires in 2012, specializing in tax law. She also completed a postgraduate in Customs Law in the same university.

Before work in the firm she worked in Romero Zapiola, Clusella & Sluga, MJE Comercio Exterior and Alais & Torres Brizuela, focusing on Custom and Foreign Trade law practice.

She has written many articles in her practice area and is member of the Buenos Aires Bar Association, the Argentine Institute of Customs Studies and of the sub-commission of Customs and Trade Facilitation of ICC Argentina.
