Gonzalo Santamaría joined Marval O’Farrell Mairal in 2009 and is currently a member of the Public & Administrative and Energy Law departments.
Before joining the firm, he worked in the public sector advising on decrees, public procurement rules and legal opinions.
Gonzalo’s areas of expertise are Administrative and Energy Law as well as other regulatory matters. He specializes in electricity, public utilities, infrastructure and government contracts. His practice is currently focused on power transactions, advising clients in connection with several renewable, thermal and co-generation projects.
Gonzalo’s electricity practice includes advising power generators, project developers, EPC and BoP contractors, turbines and panel suppliers, private off-takers and financial entities, among others.

He graduated from the School of Law of Universidad de Buenos Aires with a specialization in Corporate Law in 2008 and took a Master’s Program on Law and Economics at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, Argentina. In 2013 he attended the University of Texas at Austin as an international exchange student.
