Gabriel Matarasso joined Marval O'Farrell Mairal in 1994 and has been a partner since 1996. His areas of specialization include corporate, commercial, regulatory, project finance, trade finance and lending in general, both local and international.
During the 90s, Gabriel worked in the Argentine public debt reorganization under the “Brady Plan”; then in the debt to equity exchange during the Argentine privatization process and in the regulatory organization of the Market Makers. He also worked in leading IPOs like YPF, TGS and Citicorp Equity Investments.
He has also advised in many M&A transactions, advising investment banks, financial entities, strategic partners and private equity funds in international transactions. He has provided counsel for foreign investors in public bids and joint ventures, and different types of public sector related transactions, including energy contracts and project finance.
Gabriel has also advised in many debt restructurings (Alto Paraná, Alpargatas, Coto and Pecom, among others). He has participated in numerous M&A transactions and financings (including project finance such as Renova and Genneia’s Rawson Wind Farm), advising investment banks, financial entities, multilateral lending agencies, strategic partners and private equity funds in international transactions.

He graduated as a lawyer from the Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1987; in 1990 he completed a postgraduate degree in Business Law at the same university and in 1992 he obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Houston.
He has spoken in courses and seminars and has published works on matters related to his areas of specialization.
He is a member of the Buenos Aires Bar Association and the International Bar Association. He has acted as Secretary of the Buenos Aires Banking Lawyers Committee.
