Cecilia Mairal is one of the most experienced partners in Marval O'Farrell Mairal's Banking & Finance department.
She has extensive experience and is highly active in advising banks in connection with their private banking and investment banking businesses, multinational companies and family offices in the creation of investment vehicles, cross-border bank financings, international securities’ transactions and debt restructurings. She also has niche expertise in sensitive regulatory work and complex international banking litigation cases. Cecilia is the client relationship partner for several of the firm’s key clients and leads the teams advising these key clients in multidisciplinary complex matters.
Cecilia graduated as a lawyer from the Universidad de Buenos Aires and holds a Master’s degree from Harvard Law School. After her Master’s she worked at Linklaters in London and in New York 1991 -1994.
She has been recognized by many of the most prestigious legal publications. Chambers Latin America 2017 describes her as “an excellent lawyer”. In 2017, Cecilia was recognized as the Best Finance Lawyer in Latin America in the Americas Women in Business Awards organized by Euromoney.
Current Chair of the Capital Markets Forum of the International Bar Association and also past Co-Chair of the IBA’s Securities Law Committee, Cecilia frequently speaks on Securities and Banking law matters at the International Financial Law Conferences and the Annual Conferences organized by the IBA.
