RIGI is now Regulated

Through Decree 749/2024, published in the Official Gazette on August 23, 2024, the Executive Branch complied with article 226 of the Bases Law, which ordered it to regulate the Regime for Large Investments RIGI within 30 days of the date the Law was published.
The RIGI introduces an innovative promotion tool in the Argentine legal system. Although it has certain similarities and points of contact with previous specific regimes—such as the Investment Regime for the Mining Activity of 1993 and the National Promotion Regime for the use of Renewable Energy Sources of 2007 and 2015—the RIGI offers a system of benefits on tax, exchange, and customs, as well as guarantees and stability, which are considerably superior to previous promotion regimes. 

This text summarizes the main aspects of the Regulatory Decree, which should be analyzed together with the provisions of the Bases Law.
